Cambridge Neat Streets Schedule Set for 2013

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming gateway and thoroughfare clean up on Saturday, June 1st.

The City of Cambridge is organizing its 2013 curb appeal projects which will take place the first Saturay in June, October, and December of 2013.  The project's objective is to spruce up the streets by removing grass, weeds, and debris from the sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.   The success will rely heavily upon residents, property owners, and other volunteers. Work to be completed will focus on Maryland Avenue and Cedar, Glasgow, Locust, and Pine Streets.  

Open Positions for City Commissions, Committees

The City Council is requesting interested citizens who would like to be a part of the City's Planning and Zoning Commission and the Americans with Disabilities Act Committee to forward their resume including any past related work or volunteer history in these fields to Edwin C. Kinnamon, Clerk / Treasurer.  Submittals can be mailed to P O Box 255, Cambridge, MD 21613 or emailed to info@choosecambridge.com


Cambridge Historic Preservation Commission Workshops

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) and staff from the Planning and Zoning Department will be working to update the Historic District Design Guidelines in 2013.  Citizens are encouraged to attend these workshops and provide input for possible changes.

The sessions will be scheduled on the 1st Thursday of every month at Council Chambers, 305 Gay Street, starting at 5:30PM.

Historic Preservation Commission and Citizen Workshops Session Schedule:

  • Thursday, June 6th, 2013       5:30-8:00PM

The HPC will convene their Work Session at 6:30PM on these dates. The HPC will also continue to meet on a regular basis on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:00PM at Council Chambers.
