Victoria L. Jackson-Stanley was born and raised in Cambridge, Maryland. Victoria is a graduate of Cambridge High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Salisbury State College. Victoria has a Masters of Social Work degree from Howard University School of Social Work. She retired after more than 40 years with the State of Maryland where she spent her career working with various Departments of Social Services on the Eastern Shore.
She has always believed that civic involvement is the key to a community's success. She is a current or former member of the following organizations: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts, Dorchester County Democratic Club, Salisbury University Alumni Association, and NAACP.
She is a member of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, where she serves as a Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Gospel Choir, Communion Steward, and Missions Committee.
Victoria Jackson-Stanley is the first female and the first African American elected as Mayor of Cambridge. She is the recipient of the 2015 William Donald Schaefer Award from the Comptroller of Maryland and numerous citations, recognitions and awards.
The Mayor is married and is a mother and grandmother.
The Mayor chairs MUC and the Police Board. She regularly attends the Sailwinds Committee and the Joint City/County Coordinating Committee.
