HPC Agenda

The City of Cambridge Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a meeting on Thursday, May 21, 7:00 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 305 Gay Street.  The following items are on the agenda for this meeting:

Approval of Minutes:

Consent Agenda:

HPC #32-09, 303 Choptank Ave: The City requests an extension to a previous COA to demolish the structure.

504 Poplar St.: The owners of RAR would like to present information on an upcoming project.

Regular Agenda Items;

HPC#44 FY 2014-15, 310 Mill Street: Mr. William Bishop requests approval to install commercial grade, black aluminum, Victorian-Style fence with arched gates and triad finials.

HPC#45 FY 2014-15, 206 Glenburn Avenue: Mr. Thomas Knapp requests approval to repoint the existing brick, remove/replace existing brick steps, remove concrete sidewalk, modify rear roof line, repair existing windows, replace aluminum storm windows, install exterior air conditioner unit, replace side door, replace aluminum storm door, replace rotting front door sill, remove and replace rotten lattice work and screens, replace broken front door light, and replace landscaping shrubs.

HPC#46 FY 2014-15, 119 Choptank Ave: Mr. and Mrs. Starling request approval to remove existing porch columns/posts and front wall siding under porch and to restore porch features to original look.

HPC#47 FY 2014-15, 120 Mill St.: Mr. and Mrs. Masden request to amend their earlier COA to include using PVC railings and replacing/repointing the porch foundation.

HPC#43 FY 2014-2015 312 Glenburn Ave.: Mr. Foley, the project contractor, will re-present the application for window replacements from the last meeting.

Informal Review:

106 Vue de L’eau St.: Mr. Krusheski seeks approval to replace his current 3 tab roof shingles and in doing so would also remove the original cedar shake roof.

720 Glasgow St.: Ms. Sanford seeks approval to install solar panels.

116 Glenburn Ave.: Ms. Farrell seeks approval to replace her roof so that it would be more conducive to installing solar panels in the near future.

Administratively Approved/Routine Maintenance:

AA-1 FY 2014-2015: Mr. Vojtech was approved to remove a section of siding from the rear elevation of his house to assess the possibility of restoring the original siding. He will replace the siding within 120 days.

AA-2 FY 2014-2015: Mr. Dodrill was approved to replace roof with in-kind, 3-tab shingles.
