HPC Agenda

The City of Cambridge Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 305 Gay Street.  The following items are on the agenda for this meeting:

Old Business:

HPC #2015-015, 610 Locust St.: Zion United Methodist Church requests approval to cover the existing three-tab, asphalt roofing shingles with architectural, asphalt roofing shingles.

New Business:

HPC #2015-016, 308 Oakley St.: Grace Methodist Church requests approval to replace one wooden casement window, with one simulated, divided light PVC replacement window in the same pattern.

HPC #2015-017, 306 Glenburn Ave.: Ed Anderson requests approval to replace an existing slate roof with 40-50 year architectural asphalt shingles, to match the rear; replace approximately eight existing windows with Andersen 400 series windows, and replace the existing wire and picket fence with black, aluminum fencing.

HPC #2015-018, 117 Belvedere Ave.: Jane Weeks requests approval to install approximately 110 linear feet of 3’ tall  cedar fencing around portions of the rear yard, which will meet the existing chain link fence at the adjoining property and replace one existing wood window with one double hung, simulated divided light, vinyl replacement window.

HPC #2015-019, 311 Oakley St.: David and Marti Tomey request approval to remove and replace the front porch steps, deteriorated porch sills, porch floors, columns, railings, porch ceiling, trim and light fixture with composite materials. They also request approval to shingle the porch roof and replace the asphalt shingles on the front turret, install Andersen windows, and install new gutters on the house.

Informal Review

306 Glenburn Ave.- Ed Anderson will present ideas for alterations to the existing front porch, side porch, driveway, and front walkway.

311 Oakley St.- David and Marti Tomey will present plans to demolish three existing additions on the back of the house.

206 Belvedere Ave.- Judd Vickers will ask for guidance on proposed alterations to his driveway.

Administratively Approved/Routine Maintenance:

AA 2015-010, 315 Choptank Ave.- Mike Baugh was approved to replace fire-damaged siding, roofing, one existing replacement door, and one existing replacement window in-kind.
