Municipal Utilities Commission
January 28, 2016
The Municipal Utilities Commission met in regular session on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at the Municipal Utilities Commission conference room at 410 Academy St., Cambridge, Md. Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley convened the meeting at approximately 5:30 pm.

Introduction of Sandra Trippe-Jones, City Manager
The Commission found great pleasure in welcoming Sandra Trippe-Jones as City Manager and looks forward to working with her in the future.
Expenditures for the month of December 2015 in the amount of $182,564.36 were submitted for approval.
Motion to approve the expenditures was made by Mr. Pasden, seconded by Mr. Brooks.
Minutes for the MUC meeting of December 9th, 2015, were submitted for approval.
Motion to approve minutes with corrections was made by Mrs. Alschbach, seconded by Mr. Williams.
Proposed FY-17 Budget
Mrs. Dorman submitted the proposed FY-17 Budget to the Commission for approval. Mr. Williams questioned
Machinery and Equipment totals. Mrs. Dorman explained that the Mini Excavator is a monthly payment that would be ongoing and the Meter Reader truck would be a new purchase. After further discussion a motion to approve the proposed FY-17 budget as summited was made by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Pasden.
Service Pump #2 Nathans Ave. Replacement
Mr. Bramble informed the Commission that some of the pumps are very old and they are unable to replace parts on them. He also added that there are seven service pumps and suggested replacing them starting with the oldest one. Mr. Bramble has been getting prices on replacing the Nathan’s Ave. Pump.
Mrs. Victoria Jackson-Stanley and Mr. Williams requested additional information about the pump before moving forward. Mrs. Dorman agreed to supply all information for the next scheduled meeting on February 25, 2016.
Cross Connection Summary by Ed Bramble
Mr. Bramble informed the Commission that the Cross Connection Summary is a requirement by MDE. It is a system that establishes check valves so that other facilities cannot introduce something to the water system. This would be an enforceable contract. Mrs. Dorman will forward a copy to George Hyde and Rob Collison for any additional detail that may be required.
Mr. Johnson reported on the pumpage and billing for the month of December 2015, including seven street openings and one new service located at 503 Gay Street.
Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley presented the Commission with Commissioner Norma Alschbachs resignation letter effective January 29, 2016. The Commission expressed their sadness to her leaving and wished her all the best in the future.
Motion was made to go into executive session to discuss personnel issue was made at approximately 6:30 pm.
