June 23rd. 2016


The Municipal Utilities Commission met in regular session on Thursday, June 23rd. 2016, at the Municipal Utilities Commission conference room at 410 Academy St., Cambridge, Md., Acting Mayor Donald Sydnor convened the meeting at approximately 5:30 pm.

Expenditures

Expenditures for the month of May 2016 in the amount of $131.924.57 were submitted for approval.
Motion to approve the expenditures was made by Mr. Pasden, seconded by Mr. Brooks.
Approved.

Minutes

Minutes for the MUC meeting of May 26th., 2016, were submitted for approval.
Motion to approve minutes was made by Mrs. Nabb-Holotik, seconded by Mr. Pasden.
Approved.

Route 16 Round-A-bout Update

Mr. Johnson informed the Commission that most of the main is in with the exception of one 16" valve connection. The state has moved equipment to the site and are expected to start around July 1st, 2016.

Completion date is not available at this time.

Service Pump #2 Nathans Ave.

Mrs. Dorman explained to the Commission that she had encumbered the funds for the service pump which will be used after the work has been completed in July. This job was included in the plans for the MDE grant which was approved. We will be reimbursed for these funds and at that time we will put the money back in reserves.

Davis, Bowens & Friedel (discussion)

Mr. Bramble informed the Commission that the original master plan was updated in 2008. Mrs. Dorman and Mr. Bramble met with the engineer from Davis, Bowens & Friedel to discuss what they need to do to keep it current. He gave them several option's being flat rate pricing verses per item price. Mr. Bramble said they opted to go with per item pricing because there is not a lot that needs to be done.

Davis, Bowens & Friedel will keep it up to date at no charge and MUC will only pay for information as needed.

Superintendent's Report

Mr. Johnson reported on the pumpage and billing for the month of May 2016, including seven street openings.

Other

A motion was made to move $100,000. from account (1165) to account (1200) by Mr. Brooks, seconded by Mr. Pasden.

Approved.

With no further business, a motion was made to adjourn at approximately 5:45pm.
