City Council Meeting Minutes (Special Regular Meeting)

September 6, 2016

The City Council met in a special regular session on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Dorchester County Council Chambers (501 Court Lane) beginning at 5:00 pm. Commissioner Rideout, Commissioner Sydnor (Chair Pro-Tempore), Commissioner Foster, Commissioner Cannon, and Commissioner Hanson were present.

A motion by Commissioner Hanson to hold a special regular session was seconded by Commissioner Foster and approved unanimously.

NOTE: It is the intention of the City Council to meet in open session only for the purpose of voting to close its meeting to discuss matters that the Open Meetings Act permits it to discuss in closed session, and then to reconvene in open session for the purpose of reporting on the closed session.

Agenda

1. Council to approve or amend agenda as presented

A motion by Commissioner Hanson to approve the agenda was seconded by Commissioner Rideout and approved unanimously.

Closed Session

2. SUBJECT: Consideration of Meeting in Closed Session
Recommendation: That Council consider a motion to meet in closed session - jointly with Dorchester County Council and representatives of UM Shore Regional Health - to discuss UM Shore Regional Health's proprietary business operations remaining in Cambridge/Dorchester County.
Authority for closure of the meeting: Section 3-305(b)(4) of the General Provisions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, meeting to consider a matter that concerns the proposal for a business or industrial organization to locate, expand, or remain in the City/County/State

A motion by Commissioner Hanson to go into closed executive session was seconded by Commissioner Rideout and approved unanimously.

3. SUBJECT: Consideration of Closing the Closed Session
Recommendation: That following a closed session, Council consider a motion to end the Closed Session and Resume the Regular Session

A motion by Commissioner Foster to end the closed executive session was seconded by Commissioner Hanson and approved unanimously.

 


Regular Session

4. SUBJECT: Report on Closed Session

No action was taken by the Cambridge City Council.

Adjourn

A motion by Commissioner Rideout to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Commissioner Foster and approved unanimously.
