Cambridge International Appoints New President and Chief Executive Officer; New Chief Operating Officer
Cambridge International, the world’s largest manufacturer of metal conveyor belting and wire cloth products, announced today the appointment of Tracy Tyler as new President and Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of current President and CEO Bill Colson.
In her new role as President and CEO, Tracy Tyler, 45, will guide Cambridge International’s growth beyond its existing business through geographic expansion, acquisitions, and development of new market and product targets.
"I am so excited to take on this new role. We have a great team of people and I am looking forward to helping the company grow by creating an environment that maximizes the potential of each and every employee,” said Tyler. “By creating a team-based, high performance work environment, we will continue to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities that make the company and our people successful.”
During her 18-year career with Cambridge International, Tyler has held various management positions in sales and marketing. She has played a key role in the company’s growth strategies that have created a more diverse customer and market base. Most recently as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, she set the foundation for the company’s rebranding. Notable within the rebranding is the customer-focused business segmentation. This includes the creation of the “customer for life” program and new market development groups through which multiple new products and systems were introduced to the marketplace. Over the past 10 years the company has launched two new divisions, Cambridge Architectural and Cambridge Environmental Technologies. Tyler plans to foster an environment that will support the growth of these divisions and create more opportunities.
Earlier in her career, Tyler played an integral role on the leadership team following the 1998 merger of Maryland Wire Belts and Cambridge, Inc., resulting in the creation of Cambridge International. She also succeeded in building and leading the Maryland Wire Belts Sales Team that doubled sales in five years. Under Tyler’s mentorship, the organization has a sales and marketing management team with an average tenure of 15 years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Salisbury State University.
“Tracy has been second in command at Cambridge for many years and as the obvious choice for CEO,” said Bill Colson, retiring President and CEO. “I anticipate she will be highly successful in continuing the growth and market diversification achieved by the company.”
Cambridge International, Inc. is the world’s largest manufacturer of metal conveyor belting and wire cloth products in addition to being the parent company of Cambridge Architectural and Cambridge Environmental Technologies. With a heritage that dates back to 1911, the company’s products and systems are used in a wide variety of installations. The products support a diverse array of industries including food and beverage processing, energy, construction, automotive, agricultural, mining, and high-tech manufacturing.
