HPC Meeting Agenda

February 21, 2013

The City of Cambridge Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a meeting on Thursday, February 21st, at 7:00 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 305 Gay Street. The HPC will convene a Work Session at 6:00PM for Ethics and Law Training. The following items are on the agenda for this meeting:

Approval of Minutes:   November 15, 2012 (unfinished), December 8th, 2012, (Special Called Meeting).  January 17th, 2013, February 7th, 2013-HPC Work Session-Citizens Advisory Meeting

Consent Agenda:

HPC#25-13, 1102 Locust St., George McBrien, (owner), replace two additional windows on upper front façade due to damage. Owner has requested amendment due to damage.  Staff visit on 1-18-13.  Confirmed damage.  Specs received-exterior grids to be provided.

 

Regular Agenda Items

HPC#28-13, 1106 Glasgow St., Ann Call (owner);  replace existing wood door and screen door on front of house; install shingles on ½ roof of garage to match existing.

HPC#29-13, 302 Oakley St., Emerson and Karen Todd (owners), Brohawn and Brooks (contractor),  replace existing 3 tab shingles with architectural shingle (Harvard slate), replace jalousie windows on rear porch with vinyl replacement windows; replace-install storm doors on front and sides of house.

Extension/Continuation Cases

HPC# 12-13, Long Wharf Park, City of Cambridge Public Works Dept., review of plans to construct restroom facility. HPC approved application to allow temporary construction of standpipe structure and temporary placement of shed structure not to exceed 9 months consist with Planning and Zoning Commission and Council direction.

HPC#39-10, 801 Locust St., Janice Olshesky, (owner), Extension and Amendment Request:  update on previously approved work; review of solar panels on side porch addition; review of modifications to rear porch addition.

Administratively Approved/Routine Maintenance:

HPC#30-11, 447 Race Street, Steve Vondenbosch: relocate existing front door to swing out; modify plans to install temporary landing in rear; install revised rear entrance door;

HPC#07-41-05 Extension Request, Stephanie Davidson, Sue Swift (owners). Extension request to restore front porch; removal of enclosed area; installation of tapered columns, porch railing (porch flooring to be determined once existing condition is known)-no change from previous approval by HPC on November 19th, 2009.

HPC-Adm #16-13, 533 Poplar St., Jack Hezgeson, (tenant) install 36" by 22" projecting sign on existing brackets-business relocation for Choptank Charlies-Tuxedo Rental Business.
