The City Council met in regular emergency session on Monday, May 6, 2013 in Council Chambers. A quorum being present, Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Those Commissioners in attendance were Commissioners Vickers, Sydnor, Thomas, and Hanson. Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley asked for a moment of silence. Commissioner Hanson led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Community Legacy-The City was offered the opportunity to apply for grant funds for architectural and engineering plans for 307 Gay Street. The City could be awarded $285,000; however, the application, including a resolution from Council, must be submitted on May 7, 2013. A grant has already been submitted to the Maryland Heritage Area Authority (February). This non-competitive round is funded through the Department of Housing and Community Development. A motion by Commissioner Hanson to proceed with the grant application and authorize the Mayor to sign Resolution 13-008 was seconded and approved 4:0.

Budget Amendment for Cambridge Police Department-A motion by Commissioner Sydnor to approve the budget amendment was seconded and approved 4:0.

A motion by Commissioner Thomas to adjourn the regular session and go into a work session was seconded and approved 4:0.

With no further business, Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and accurate account of the Council meeting Monday, May 6, 2013, insofar as I personally am aware.
