Minutes for the MUC Meeting of April 22nd, 2014, were submitted for approval.

Nathan's Ave Well

Mr. Johnson discussed the gauge he installed.

Mr. Johnson informed the Commission that he was advised by Mr. Wright to contact
Unitech.

Unitech came and tested the well and at the time said we were over pumping, drawing away too much from the well.

Unitech advised Mr. Johnson to install a new orifice this will restrict the water pressure. Presently they have it wired to prevent over pumpage.

Mr. Bramble our newest operator recorded the turbitity and pressure levels.

Mr. Brooks suggested letting the well run

Mr. Williams suggested inquiring with other districts on there pumping restrictions.

Mrs. Dorman informed the Commission that Unitech wants a new chart of the turbidity before making a decision on the next step.  Ms. Dorman will do this for them and see what their response will be.

Mr. Williams suggested we look into installing an orifice on all the wells to prolong their life.

Ms. Dorman will await the results of the well decision before she forwards any more info to MDE.

Computer Software Update

Ms. Dorman discussed the new computer software, informing the Commission that Edmonds will continue to work on any and all issues that may occur.

New Locator Acquisition

Mrs. Dorman asked permission to purchase a new locator and yellow stick.  We will have some future locates and currently ours is not on target.  The Race and Muir St building use to have a sprinkler system, which currently is not connected.  They will be needing accurate locates on the lines going into the building.  Ms. Dorman said we don't want to dig up the street and have to blacktop if we don't have to.

Mr. Johnson said they have gotten estimates and actually used one, which cost approximately $5,000 and $1800 for the stick.

Mrs. Dorman said we would have money in the current budget under Machinery & Equipment.

Mr. Williams made a motion to purchase this equipment, seconded by Mrs. Alschbach.  Approved.

Superintendent's Report

Mr. Johnson discussed street openings and or repairs, including Allen Street, Lecompte, Muir and Academy Street.  He reported on the Pumpage and Billing for the Month of April.

Other

Mr. Pasden expressed the importance of continuing education.

Mrs. Dorman explained that she has the operators signed up for classes at this time and that they are required to have a certain amount of hours to be certified.

With no further business, a motion was made to adjourn at approximately 7:20 pm.
