MUC Minutes

July 25, 2014

 

The Municipal Utilities Commission met in regular session on Thursday, July 24th. 2014 at the Municipal Utilities Commission conference room at 410 Academy St., Cambridge, Md.  Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley convened the meeting at approximately 6:30 pm.

              Jane Dorman-MUC Water Resource Administrator

              Kevin Johnson-Superintendent-MUC  

              Shane Bloodsworth-Asst. Superintendent-MUC

Expenses

Expenses for the Month of June 2014 in the amount of $107,847.58 were submitted for approval.

Mrs. Dorman informed the Commission of a correction. Check 30354 was for signs.

Motion to approve the expenses was made by Mr. Pasden, seconded by Mrs. Alschbach.

Approved.

Minutes

Minutes for the MUC Meeting of June 26th, 2014, were submitted for approval.

Motion to approve minutes was made by Mr. Brooks, seconded by Mr. Ford.

Approved.

Nathan's Ave Well

Mrs. Dorman informed the Commission that Water Testing Labs came and did the testing. We are waiting on the results for bacteria and nitrates.  She spoke with Zoë (MDE) and based on the information, she does not need to come down. Once she gets the results from the lab she will give us a certificate of portability to use the well.  Mrs. Dorman will inform the Commission of the results via e-mail.

Thank You Letter YMCA

Mrs. Dorman gave the Commission a thank you letter from the YMCA thanking the Commission for the yearly water usage credit they give as an in-kind service.

Superintendent's Report

Mr. Johnson discussed street openings and or repairs, including (2) on Willomere Lane.  He reported on the Pumpage and Billing for the Month of June.  

Personnel

Mrs. Dorman explained there would be no update at this time.  We are waiting on testing results.

Mayor Jackson Stanley noted Mr. Steve Williams was not present.

With no further business, a motion was made to adjourn at approximately 6:55 pm.
