City of Cambridge New Public Safety Complex

Cambridge Police Department serves the City of Cambridge, on Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore. Located on the banks of the Choptank River, Cambridge is approximately halfway between Ocean City, Maryland, and the Annapolis/Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan areas.

The City of Cambridge currently maintains a modern, highly trained, and diverse staff of 48 sworn officers and 12 civilians. The department is located in the Edward E. Watkins Public Safety Complex at 8 Washington Street.

The Cambridge Police Department is the largest municipal police agency in Dorchester County.

The department has a long, proud tradition of being part of the community, and as the city grows we strive to maintain the "small town feel" by being responsive to the changing needs of the people.

The Cambridge Police Department is a dynamic, value-based organization where community policing is a way of life.

Acting in partnership with the community to promote a responsive and flexible approach to quality of life issues is the foundation of Cambridge's community policing endeavors. Our effective coordination with other city agencies and community organizations have generated a variety of problem solving partnerships. These coalitions have been successful in developing comprehensive solutions to community problems, forging new strengths in combating crime, and helping to improve our community.
