Dear Cambridge City Council Members:

While our Summer Reading Program is an annual tradition, we are proud to act as the umbrella organization in the firstever, county-wide, Summer Reading Challenge: "All Together Now!" - in partnership with community organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, New Beginnings Community Center, Harvesting Hope Youth & Family Wellness, Lollipop Lane Daycare, PineTop Daycare, the YMCA, the Sandy Hill and Maple Judy Centers, Moving Dorchester Forward, the John & Janice Wyatt Foundation, and more! Children and teens across the county will receive incentives from the Library for completing literacy-related game-boards through their summer "camps" and/or independently with their families.

In celebration of this initiative, I would like to extend an invitation to our Annual Summer Reading Kickoff Party, which will be held on Saturday, June 24th, from l-3pm in the Cambridge Library parking lot. Please stop by to help celebrate the arrival of summer and the importance of reading! We typically have around 200+ people attend this event. Various community organizations will also be in attendance. This would be a great meet-and-greet opportunity with the community and we would love to have you join us!
