Arts and Entertainment Committee

Meetings: December 11, 2023, 1pm, 410 Academy Street, City Hall Conference Room   January 17, 2024, 3pm, 410 Academy Street, City Hall Conference Room.

Members: Commissioner, Brandon Hesson, Lynne Widli, Linda Starling, Veronica Taylor, David Stevens, Barb Seese, Lori Uncapher, Beth Kline and Theresa McFadden.

This committee will consist of 7 members and will be appointed by City Council. We seek to have a representation of business minded/economic development people and creative/artistic people on the committee.

Cambridge is one of a handful of communities in the State of Maryland with a State designated Arts & Entertainment District.  This district provides tax advantages for artists who work in the district.  This on-going committee will consider the promotion of arts & entertainment and engaging with businesses and artists to make our City, in general, and the A&E District, specifically, more vibrant.

A potential subcommittee would create processes around identifying and approving Art in Public Spaces.
